A large water pipe was damaged in the area of Beeston in Nottingham, UK on Tuesday afternoon.
Severn Trent, the water provider responsible for the water main, stated that damage to the pipe was caused by third party contractors building student accommodation nearby.
The magnitude and pressure of the leak from the burst pipe was large enough to send the transported water flying over houses and leave 10 of them flooded with their residents being evacuated to a nearby church.
In addition, the pipe was located next to roads and tram tracks, which got flooded and caused transportation to be disturbed. More specifically, tram services are still being disrupted into Wednesday with no service being available in the area.
