Tesla home battery has come to revolutionize the energy sector!

Moving beyond the electrical car marker, Tesla revealed a few days ago, its latest achievement; a home battery that based on solar panels stores or supplies electricity to homes. With many details still unknown, the battery will be available in the market in the next few months at a cost of $3,000.

Powerwall, the new Tesla's battery, was recently presented by the company's CEO, Elon Musk. It has a smooth surface and dimensions 4ft in height, 3ft in width and 7 inches in depth, the battery is simple to install on any surface, indoors or outside. Using solar panels it stores solar energy and generates electricity, which can be used by home owners during power shortages, or during the evening. 

Cost of storage has so far been the main setback to widespread residential use of solar energy. Conventional batteries were too expensive, large in size and solar installations had to channel the energy into the grid and buy it back in the evening. But the involved technology in the rechargeable lithium-ion battery provided by Tesla has just provided a long awaited solution to the problem. 

The battery is available in two versions of 7kWh, at $3,000, ideal for daily use, and 10kWh, at $3,500, able to sufficiently cover energy needs in case the conventional electricity grid fails. Installation costs still remain to be specified, however it is estimated that they will not exceed some thousands of dollars.
