Saudi Arabia recently unveiled its plans to construct the Mukaab, a supertall skyscraper.
The Mukaab will be located at the center of the New Murabba district of Riyadh, a 19km² development, which will offer a 25km² floorspace to include entertainment, hospitality, residential and leisure facilities.
The skyscraper will be of cubic shape, measuring 400m in all three dimensions, making it the largest built structure in the world according to the arch daily.
At the Mukaab’s center there will be a spiraling tower, encased in a dome structure, which will display holographic ambiences.
The Saudi Arabian government stated that the project will be completed by 2030 and is part of a series of projects, the Vision 2030. These projects include, among others, the 170km long Neom skyscraper and the octagonal floating port city, Oxagon, which aim to diversify the country’s economy and oil reliance.
