A magnitude 4.4 earthquake took place in Lake County, California, late on Tuesday.
More specifically, the earthquake struck at 10.39 p.m., and was located 7.4 kilometers from northwest Cobb and roughly 40 miles from Santa Rosa, at a focus depth of 2 km.
The magnitude was originally measured at 4.5 mw, but was later downgraded to 4.4 by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
There were a couple of aftershocks following, which were measured at M 2.8 and 2.5, while no reports of damage or injuries have been made yet.
Finally, it was confirmed by the USGS that the state’s ShakeAlert system was activated by this earthquake and notified local residents shortly before shaking started.
