Magnetic Propulsion Technology to be Trialed for Port Cargo

A new pilot project is set to evaluate an autonomous magnetic rail system for freight movement at a major port in Gujarat, India. The initiative involves constructing a 750-meter test track to assess the technology's viability in a live operational environment. This system is designed to move cargo using self-propelled, electric-powered wagons.

The magnetic rail technology operates on the principle of linear motor propulsion, which can be installed on existing standard-gauge rail infrastructure.
