It is called ‘The Seabin’ and can be installed in marina docks and other waterways

The Seabin is a ‘genius bucket’ that is placed in the water (hardly protruding from its surface) and is plumbed into a shore-based water pump. The water gets sucked into the bucket, collecting all floating trash into the Seabin’s removable bag, made of a natural fiber. The pump, which can also feature an oil/water separator, returns clean sea water back to the ocean. This process is constant, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When the ‘catch bag’ is full, the marina worker simply changes it with another one. And on top of that, the Seabin has up to now proved to be safe for fish and other ocean life as well.

The ‘Seabin project’ was the idea of two Australian surfers (Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski) who noticed the intense sea pollution while enjoying their hobby, and decided they should do something about it. So, they quit their day jobs and spent 10 years perfecting the prototype.
