Last week, archaeologists made a discovery at the Temple of the Inscriptions in the Mayan ruins of Palenque. Using sonar, they found a canal under the temple that is believed to be a symbolic gateway to the underworld.
An enormous crack emerged between the Costa de Hermosillo and the coast, in Sonora, northwest Mexico, baffling the locals and initiating geological investigations to explain what caused the fissure. A drone, which flew over the area, captured the spectacular fissure measuring eight meters in depth and approximately 1 kilometer in length in a video which can be viewed below!
