For more than 20 years, the Pile Dynamic instrument, Pile Integrity Tester (PIT), has offered an ideal means of ensuring that piles and/or shafts are free of cracks and voids before construction of the superstructure. PIT may be used on most deep foundation systems, including concrete and wood foundations, as well as on piles supporting bridges or towers, also assessing their length. It performs wave equation-based non-destructive foundation investigations known as Low Strain Impact Integrity Tests or Low Strain Dynamic Tests.
