The first phase of the demolition process of the East Span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge has been completed. The project, with a final cost $63.7 million, started in November 2013 and finished the current month.
The first 3D printed estate in the United States is set to be complete by the end of 2017. The ambitious project is being undertaken by New York City architect Adam Kushner, alongside partners including 3D-printing pioneer Enrico Dini and his D-Shape firm. The estate will feature a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, carport and a 2,400 square foot house in upstate New York.
After decades of studies, plans and juridical arguments, the North Carolina Department of Transportation announced the agreement with environmental groups to replace the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge with a new bridge parallel to the existing span.
Studio Libeskind has revealed the design of three new office towers in the city center of Rome. The structures are sited at the heart of the planned tor di valle business district adjacent to the A.S. Roma Stadium. Working in conversation together, the three buildings look as if they were cut from the same block of stone. The structures are arranged around a 3,000 sq. meter public plaza and vary in height, up to 220 meters.
Wind energy could provide part of the solution to exit the crisis in Greece, but for such long-term investments, political stability is required, as it was mentioned by Dr. Klaus Rave, president of the World Wind Energy Council, namely the International Union of wind power industry.
