Researchers estimated that the wastewater facility has become home to nearly 107 million spiders, belonging to the Tetragnathidae variety - also famous as orb weavers - measuring around half-inch in length. Experts who had the courage to study this spider nest, concluded that around 35,176 spiders are found in each cubic meter of space in the facility, this possibly being the most densely populated spider nest across the United States.
Spider webs were initially discovered by employees in 2009 and by this day, the web has covered most of the massive warehouse's ceiling. In some cases, the density of the spider web is so thick that has induced permanent damage to the lights and other equipment. The spiders started to feed on other insects, while the nutrient reach water produced at the water treatment facility gave a strong boost upon the spider population.
