Three Slovakian hikers claim to have found an unexplored cave, while walking in the forest close to the village of Borka in Slovakia. One of them, photographer Robert Nemeti took pictures from inside the cave, which are presented in the photo gallery below!
The newly discovered cave, which is unmapped and known only to a few local people, is located 300 meters up a mountain near to the Zadielska Tiesnava canyon. The three Slovakian hikers, Robert Nemeti, Istvan Gallai and Tibor Balint also said that the cave is well hidden in the forest, making it very difficult to locate its entrance. The cave was probably formed by underwater rivers coming down the hillside hundreds of thousands of years ago and was used as a shelter and hideaway from enemy soldiers during World War II.
The cave's depth and size, as well as its very narrow tunnels and paths in the inside, have discouraged all mapping efforts in the past according to Mr. Gallai. The three men had to slide on their backs in the first 20 meters and pass through narrow gaps before finding themselves into the main room, with hundreds of detailed dropstones.
